Makers Mindset • We are Thomas Bossert and Melissa Rosenbauer. We started espanyolet out of a desire get out from behind the computer and start making things with our hands. It’s with this lens that we approach all of our projects: not just as designers, but as the makers. We believe this is what makes espanyolet different. Given this, we approach the transformation of each new space with eyes of makers, and always design with respect for craftsmanship and an artisan way of making.
Color, texture & patina • As makers, we think differently about interior design. When you make things, they reflect where you belong. From the origin of the materials, to how the piece is crafted and feels, to the space it will fill within your home. In Mallorca, we are surrounded by incredible artisans who’ve worked with local materials for centuries. They understand the island’s color palette, its textures and its soul. They know how to bring our ideas to life in a way that’s truly authentic.
Soul & History • We respect the craftsmanship of yesteryear and have a particular reverence for the quality of materials made in a time before fast fashion was a ‘thing.’ We search for people, places and things with a story to tell. And the spaces that we transform have such a rich history imbued in their bones….we cherish & nurture this while also delivering a bit of our own spirit and soul.
